An Important Update

In June 2026, the Rhode Island General Assembly passed, and Governor Dan McKee signed into law, legislation that prevents De La Comunidad Bilingual Public Charter School from continuing through Rhode Island's charter authorization process, despite successfully completing the state's rigorous review process and receiving preliminary approval.

We are deeply grateful to the thousands of families, educators, community leaders, and supporters who stood behind this vision and helped make De La Comunidad Bilingual a powerful movement for educational excellence.

Our team is currently evaluating the best path forward and will share updates as they become available.
